Volt is immediately hiring a Nuclear Material Engineer in
Naperville, ILL

In this role you will use your expertise in materials science, ASME
codes, and graphite applications to support our reactor design,
fabrication, and operational goals.
About our client:
Our client is an advanced nuclear technology company focused on
commercialization of nuclear reactors.
As a Nuclear Material Engineer you will:
Inform the selection of materials and their performance as part of
our nuclear reactor plant systems.
Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and
optimize production methods/techniques.
Review supplier and service provider to support the development of
the supply chain and acquisition of materials.
Perform material performance analyses to support design,
manufacturing, construction and operation activities.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and
standard work.
This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant Science or Engineering
field (Materials, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical).
Minimum 5 years of experience in material science or engineering,
preferably in the nuclear, energy, or aerospace industries.
Preferred Characteristics
Knowledge of material behavior under extreme environment.
Experience with material fatigue, wear, fretting and other
degradation phenomena.
Familiarity with material manufacturing and processes.
Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards (e.g.
ASME).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team contributing
to positive culture and overall team results.
Salary: $122000-148000 per year plus relocation assistance
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on
several factors, including the candidate's education, work
experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications,
etc.
